Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider serving that result experience; the Perinton Residents Directory servers do not retain a copy of those search terms. A message sent to us contains only the information included in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Information
Hosting services may maintain routine logs such as an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and time of request. We use aggregate activity to maintain the service and understand general readership. Cookies or comparable tools can support basic analytics and, when present, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
The limited data supports operation, troubleshooting, aggregate traffic review, and content maintenance. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search services. Each destination controls its own data practices, including any sponsored-result provider. Review that destination’s policy before submitting information there.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and support vendors process the technical information needed to run the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is otherwise disclosed only when required by valid legal process.
How We Protect Your Data
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described here. Because there are no site accounts, the service does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent personal information so it can be removed.
Your Data Choices
Depending on where a visitor lives, laws may provide rights to ask about, correct, or delete personal information a service holds. The research for Perinton identifies New York public-record rules, including Public Officers Law Article 6, rather than a state consumer-privacy statute that governs this private reference’s routine visitor logs. Because this service keeps little data, a request normally concerns the contact mailbox or technical logs. Use the Contact page. Government records held by New York, Monroe County, or Perinton remain under the relevant custodian’s procedures.
Updates to This Policy
A revised policy will be posted here. Continuing to use the service after publication means the revised policy applies.
